Working in the team
Clarify, contribute, raise concerns, and follow through.
- You are struggling with competing priorities Show the competing requests and get a priority decision from someone authorized to make it.
- You are unclear if your work meets expectations Ask about recent work and compare it with the agreed standard. Decide what to continue and what to practice.
- Your 1:1 meetings keep being canceled State the decision you need, agree on another meeting time, and resolve recurring scheduling conflicts.
- You are not sure how to propose improvements Show the work, check why the current method exists, and propose a limited trial with results to compare.
- Your company's AI use rules are unclear Confirm the approved tool, task, information, and required review before using workplace data.
Working on the team
Make decisions, resolve conflicts, and help people develop.
- Your team keeps missing deadlines Check how deadlines were set and what prevented completion. Resolve competing priorities, revise commitments, and act on early warnings.
- Someone on your team keeps interrupting in meetings Let speakers finish, discuss specific interruptions, and agree on how to contribute.
- You disagree with the feedback you received Examine the event, expectation, and requested change. Correct inaccurate feedback and clarify what applies next.
- You are unclear about what is expected of you Clarify the expected action. Compare examples and establish which decisions require approval.
- Your team member is regularly late Discuss the missed start time and affected work. Agree on a workable schedule and check that both people follow it.
- Your team member keeps missing meetings Find out why the person misses meetings and what colleagues need from them. Resolve calendar conflicts and agree on useful updates.
- Your feedback is having no effect Observe an attempt. Check coaching, access, priorities, and how you respond to the work.
- You keep postponing a performance conversation Prepare the observation and question. Discuss them privately, hear the person's account, and agree on the next action.
- Your team member is no longer meeting expectations Compare recent work with previous performance. Examine changed assignments, resources, and consequences before choosing support or considering a role change.
- Your new team member still needs help Identify the step that needs help. Check access, expectations, and coaching before the next attempt.
- Your delegated work is not meeting your standard Separate a missed requirement from a different method. Coach the correction and explain when a deadline requires you to complete the work.
- You are now managing your former teammates Explain how assignments, feedback, and confidentiality will work as you manage former teammates.
- Your reliable team member wants to leave Review urgent assignments, pay, support, or development, and commit only to changes you can make.

- Your managers use different standards for the same work Decide which requirements must be shared, retain useful local methods, and provide the necessary support.
- You are taking on work that will delay prior commitments Compare the opportunity with current commitments. Decide what to defer, reduce, or support, and explain the changes to those affected.
