Select the Lowest-Cost Intervention That Fits the Cause

An efficient fix matches the diagnosed cause and costs no more than the problem warrants. Map each option to the cause, price it in money, time, and disruption before committing, and rank the field by how much behavior change it buys per unit of cost rather than by habit. Run the cheaper environmental fix before the expensive individual one. Choosing without cost in view defaults to the most visible fix, not the most efficient one.

Measurable Behaviors

Behaviors are optimized to be directly observable for evidence-based skill tracking.

Build a shared menu of proven interventions by cause type

Records fixes that worked, by cause type and cost, so a colleague can select one without asking first.

Estimate the cost and effort of each option before choosing

Prices each option in money, time, and disruption, since a five-minute reset and a two-day course are not interchangeable.

Match the intervention to the diagnosed cause

Chooses the fix that maps directly to the named cause, such as a clarified expectation rather than a generic workshop.

Rank interventions by leverage, not by familiarity

Orders options by how much behavior change each produces for its cost, not by which is most familiar.

Sequence the environmental fix before the expensive individual one

Runs the cheaper environmental change first and measures before escalating to a costly individual fix.

What Intervention Mastery Looks Like

A mastered choice maps directly to the named cause, carries a rough cost for each option, and is ranked on leverage rather than familiarity. The cheaper environmental fix runs first and is measured before any expensive individual one, and proven fixes are recorded in a shared menu by cause type for the next manager.
